How much wood.....?
IT"S A WOOD CHUCK (TAYLOR)! HA! That's funny I don't care who you are. So this is a version of a light box, without light, (scratches head.) The back of the box is really thin pieces of plywood and then the next level is the cut out of the shoe. The star was the hardest part to make because, it's really, really tiny. Also for some reason that escapes me now I made it with scissors instead of an Xcto knife.

The Birds
A bit of a change of pace, BIRDS!!!! Three birds flying south for the great deals at Crazeee Eddie's Discount Carpet Barn or some such. Each bird is at a slightly different height from each other. And the top one's wings extend past the matte, where the bottom one's wing tuck under. These are the failed bird from March 12, 2012.

This little light box 'o' mine
So here's the last of the light boxes and it's the sun. This one looks pretty good with the light coming in behind it and catching the streaks in the marker.

Angel Box
So what's the devil without his counter part? This was an atteempt to do the opposite of the devil. Round head vs sharp points, mustache vs. mustache, pipe vs no pipe, well you get the idea. Also it's a bit hard to tell but his mooooostache is very fuzzy.

Light Boxes
To keep my hands busy I've been making these little light boxes. They are three foam core square glued together with one layer of tracing paper and one layer of cardstock, in between them. The tracing paper is colored with Prismacolor markers, which have a radiance to them and look really amazballs in sunlight. The cardstock has the face of the devil cut in to it then the whole thing is slapped together. There are quite of few of these in different style but the same basic idea and I'll post more of them over the next couple of days.
